Read the fuel-specific wording
Fremont Peak’s reviewed notice prohibits wood and charcoal fires, including in the provided fire rings, and attributes the restriction to the lack of water at the park. The presence of an installed fire ring therefore does not establish permission to use it. Check the current rule for the fuel and appliance you intend to use before packing for an overnight visit.
Do not transfer one park’s rule to another
Henry W. Coe’s June 12, 2026 notice prohibits wood and charcoal campfires for the remainder of wildfire season. That same notice permits gas stoves, gas grills, and portable gas fire pits, and asks for extreme caution with open flames. Those exceptions belong to that source and park. They do not establish the rule at Fremont Peak or any other destination.
Treat an unspecified end as unknown
Mount San Jacinto’s page carries a June 17, 2026 fire-restriction notice. The short notice does not itself explain every permitted appliance or give a reopening date. Follow the park’s linked official information for the detailed current restriction. A season description is not a precise expiry date, and the absence of a newer item in our directory does not mean a restriction has ended.
